FAQ

When does the event take place?

The 10k starts at 9:00 am and the 5k starts at 9:15 am. The course will be marked to identify which distance is which and volunteers will be on course at each turn around to ensure that you don't miss a beat.

Where does the event take place?

The event will be held at Hellyer County Park, located in south San Jose, CA. The address is: 985 Hellyer Ave, San Jose, CA 95111. You can obtain additional information regarding the park via the following link: https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/parkfinder/Pages/Hellyer.aspx

Where can I park and is it free?

You can park within the county park grounds, however there is a fee to do so. The fee will be posted at the entrance gate as it changes throughout the year and is collected by the park. The typical cost is approx. $5. You are free to park on any public street or space, just be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your race so that you have time to do so.

Do I get any cool stuff?

Each participant, regardless of distance, will receive an awesome gender specific t-shirt and finisher medal, among other fun items in your swag bag. The shirts and medals will be totally rad, giving off that true 80s vibe. You'll want to rock these tees day after day just because they're super cool. We know you'll be posting your medal all over Instagram to show how awesome, hip and active you are all at the same time. Want more? Great! We will also host a raffel after the awards ceremony where participants can select from a number of awesome prizes. Total score!

Are there any awards?

Totally! We will be awarding the top 3 finishers for each distance, male and female. The award ceremony time is to be held shortly after the completion of both courses. This year our awards have been custom designed andhand made by Phil Van Ornum of Van Ornum Woodworking. You can learn more about his work here: http://www.vanornumwoodworking.com/ - We know for curtain that you're going to love and appreciate these fine pieces of art.

Will there be any food?

Absolutely! We will offer fresh fruit (bananas), muffins, Gaslamp Popcorn & GoGoSqueez fruit pouches (huge thanks to our 2017 sponsors!) and cookies. In the heat of the summer we wanted to have something on site to quench your thirst, so we will also be bringing in Kona Hawaiian Ice. Kona Ice will be available for an additional, yet very reasonable fee. Prices begin at $3 per snow cone. We know you want one. :)
